After many years or even decades, the virus may break itself from nerve cell bodies to cause viral infection of the skin in that region where that nerve exists. The discussed skin infection may modify itself to painful rashes. However, these rashes usually heal within three to five weeks. But it is not understood that the virus hides itself in the body and reactivates to cause pain in the body.
